Growing up in California hasn't made Steve a stranger. When they were younger, Lathan's family would go on vacations out west and visit the Erich family. During the holidays, the Erich's came to stay at their grandparents'. Lathan, Spencer, and Rob spent many hours playing games, monopoly and risk, and having fun in the ocean. They were never bored. These days, they see each other at Monday night dinners, and for fun nights in at Lathan's house.
